Atelierdb have over 15 years of experience helping homeowners maximise the design and value potential of their property in Wandsworth. We are highly skilled with basement designs, ground floor extensions, first floor extensions, loft conversions and everthing in between.

At Atelierdb, good Architecture is not a cookie cutter profession, one size does not fit all. Each project has unique charateristics not only from its locality but importantly from a client’s individual needs.

Once appointed we are usually on-board for a significant period of time, sometimes up to 3 years depending on the complexity and scale of the project from a Planning and Construction point of view.

We are a small office allowing us to remain very involved and inform clients through all the critical stages of a project.

For Wandsworth residents the Local Plan is an insightful read and helps show the Borough’s intent and ambitions over the coming years.

When considering changes or modifications to a property Architects refer to the Local Plan and Supplementary Planning Documents to understand Design opportunities and restrictions. It is important to note that these documents are in some cases guidance based on typical arrangements and known data. There is scope and opportunity to Architecturally challenge the guidance when taking into consideration local context, precedent and form.

Wandsworth Planning Applications

We have an excellent success rate at securing Planning Approvals for our clients but equally look to push design boundaries when asked to do so. Even a refusal can be a positive outcome and used as Preplanning advice on which to submit a new application. Preplanning routes can be a positive approach however a planning department will conclude by advising a formal application is required to fully appraise the designs proposed.

Wandsworth Permitted Development

Despite Permitted Development having a well defined set of definitions, it can be interpreted differently by some Planning departments. There are occasions where new opportunities will arise using Permitted Development and sometimes submitted design information can be quite abstract to achieve a better end result. When reviewing each project we actively engage to inform our clients on the best collective design route.
